Chairman's Message

Tasauf A. Baki Billah

Chairman

Dear Parents, Teachers, Students, and Well-Wishers, Warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all of you.

I share these words not just as a founder or chairman, but also as a parent, an education enthusiast, and above all, a dreamer.

If there is one force that truly drives a nation forward, it is education. The more knowledge-based our education system is, the more it can foster justice, compassion, critical thinking, and holistic progress. But real education is never limited to textbooks—it is a lifelong process that nurtures values, awakens independent thought, and instills a deep sense of responsibility.

A question loomed over us—although perhaps we avoided it for too long: Are our children being prepared only to pass exams, or are they truly being prepared for this ever-evolving world and the future it demands? That very question disturbed us, made us reflect deeply—and eventually gave us the inspiration and courage to start something new. Thus, Scopus International School & College was born.

Our school is located in Keraniganj, just outside Dhaka—a region full of potential, yet in need of an institution that bridges modern education, ethics, and technology. For a long time, we held the dream of building a values-based, creative, and forward-thinking school here. Today, that dream is taking shape.

We firmly believe that quality education shouldn't be limited to cities. Learning is not bound by geography. Children from this area deserve access to world-class opportunities too—and that belief guides our mission. Yes, we may currently face resource constraints and haven’t yet launched on the grandest of scales. But with your support, we are doing everything we can to foster moral and emotional growth in our students. And we remain hopeful that our capacity and reach will soon grow.

In the context of 2024, the role of students has shifted significantly, and so has the urgent need for educational institutions that can guide them wisely. We’ve seen our students step outside classrooms—voicing opinions, embracing technology, leading change, and standing up for justice. They are not just learners now—they are changemakers. In this context, a strong institution can serve as their compass and community. Scopus aspires to be just that.

The post-pandemic world demands a new kind of education—blending academic excellence with digital fluency, emotional resilience, and civic awareness. Unfortunately, many in our region still lack access to this kind of quality education. Our school aims to bridge that gap. We believe that by ensuring excellence at the local level, we contribute to national progress.

To face the challenges of the 21st century, our students will need much more than textbook knowledge. They must be critical thinkers, leaders, collaborators, and empathetic global citizens. We envision an institution where students are not just trained for exams but prepared for life itself—where they learn to speak up, listen respectfully, think creatively, and act responsibly.

Scopus is not just a school—it is a center for thought, a platform for ideas, and a project for building an enlightened community. Here, students will not only explore academics but also engage in debates, cultural activities, reading circles, science clubs, and environmental action programs. We want them to step out of the pages and into real-world understanding—with courage and capability.

Our teachers are not mere instructors. They are mentors, listeners, and guides. They will teach, but they will also keep learning—through trainings, workshops, and reflection. And we will ensure that the bond between teachers, parents, and the school remains transparent, caring, and collaborative.

We believe that education isn’t just about delivering knowledge—it’s about awakening the light that already lives inside every child. And when that light shines, it illuminates not just one life—but the entire community, and the nation itself.

Our dream is far-reaching. We plan to soon launch a separate English-medium section to offer parents more options. Our long-term vision includes expanding to a college-level institution, integrating tech-based academic systems, developing e-learning platforms, adopting international curricula, and offering scholarships to talented and underprivileged students. We are progressing step by step—with sincerity and care at every turn.

To our dear students—I urge you to remain disciplined and dedicated. Bring your best selves to everything you do. Work hard toward your goals and seek wisdom from your teachers. Don’t fear failure—it is often the doorway to your greatest learning. We want to listen to you, too. We want to co-create a vibrant and multidimensional learning space, hand-in-hand with you. This school will be the foundation upon which your dreams will rise—and with you, we will build a brighter future.

To our parents—we are deeply grateful for your trust. We understand that placing your child in someone else's care is like entrusting a piece of your heart to someone else’s promise. We will not break that promise.

Join us in this shared journey of education, growth, and hope. Let’s walk this road together—for a future where our children do not just achieve good grades, but grow into good human beings.

Please remember: the future is not made by textbooks alone. It is built with ideals, love, and deep care.

Our motto: “Education, Discipline, and Human Values.”
Our dream: “A cradle for the scholars of tomorrow.”
We hope to walk this path with you—every step of the way.

With love and regards,
